Lorena Lourenço + Carlos Ramos Leon

Lorena Lourenço (a Brazilian writer, director and producer of film, TV and animation) works with Carlos Ramos Leon (a Mexican visual development artist working across animation, film, and games.) Having just recently released their animated music video for Anitta’s VMA’s performance, they continue to collaborate closely on all things film, TV and animation. Carlos builds the most magnificent worlds, with alluring atmospheres, that Lorena populates with vivid characters, whose stories mesmerize us. The two artists have created for MTV, Disney+, Marvel, HBOmax and Sony as well as having their works recognized at Cannes, the Children’s & Family Emmy Awards, and numerous international film festivals.

The duo met when working together in visual development for films (mainly for Marvel) and are now driven to unique or fresh work that pushes the boundaries of film, animation and advertising. They find themselves inspired by great storytelling and artists, such as Ai Wei Wei, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Vik Muniz. They’re drawn to the people and projects who dare to challenge the status quo – may it be visually, socially, or politically - who make us reconsider life as we know it and reframe our perspective on all things.

Neptunian Glitterball x Valentino

A collaboration with Maison Valentino for the launch of the Panthea bag. I don’t start with the object. I start with the feeling the object already has, the thing it would do if no one was watching. For Valentino’s Panthea, that feeling was predatory. The gilded cage wasn’t a set. It was a confession. Everything I make begins this way: find the secret life of the thing, then build the world around it.

Alex Tellez is a Director and Director of Photography whose work returns to the quiet effort behind any pursuit that matters. Observational by instinct, she favors restraint over spectacle, drawn to the small unguarded moments that carry the most weight. Alex believes the work of a director is mostly preparation and patience. To build the conditions for something real and authentic to happen, then getting out of its way.
